Pet Peeve!

Let me preface this by saying that I love Uggs as much as the next girl (I know some of you out there despise them and see them only as another hideous fashion trend, but bear with me here). I love how they keep my feet toasty warm and I have a serious appreciation of their soft cushy-ness.

However, it pisses me off to no end when I see women on the street in Uggs DRAGGING THEIR FEET! For some reason, this phenomenon seems unique to the Ugg. People don’t usually drag their feet in heels or sneakers. But for some reason, once the Uggs appear, I am forced to endure the loud scuffing noises that seem to follow me everywhere.

Can anyone explain why this happens? Does this bother anyone else?

Random Thoughts

I know, it’s been forever. And I’m cheating by doing bullet points, but really, it’s just one of those days.
• I applied to graduate school a month and a half ago! I wish I knew when they were making their decisions. Classes start in January, so it’s not exactly urgent, but I like to make plans in advance and it would be nice to know. Seriously.
• What is with the rain in December? What ever happened to snow? I realize snow is not as fun in the city as elsewhere, but I still love it and I’m feeling very Christmas-y. But this whole freezing cold rain? It’s just NOT doing it for me.
• This week is my official start of going to the gym regularly. For real this time. I went on Tuesday and I am going again today and this weekend. I figure once I actually start going, it will be easier to keep up with it. At least that is what I tell myself.
• This weekend I WILL attempt to be social. Last weekend I was away and before that was Thanksgiving so I feel like I haven’t seen anyone I am not related to in FOREVER. This needs to change soon. For the sake of my social life and my sanity.

Also, I am thinking of redesigning/reorganizing my blog. But I am completely hopeless when it comes to most thing technological. Any suggestions?

Rant

If an employer tells a job applicant that she will let the applicant know if they got the job that day or the next day, then that’s what she should do!

It is now two days later and I still have no response! I know this means that I probably didn’t get the job, and that sucks. A lot. Especially since it was my last hope for some sort of permanent employment (i.e. NOT subbing). But regardless, if you say you will do something, DO IT. Don’t leave me hanging. It’s inconsiderate, rude, and makes me not want to work for you (except that I am so completely desperate for employment, I would work for the headmistress in Matilda).

In other news, I went to the Mets game tonight and it was SO GOOD. It’s kind of sad that Shea is closing though. As my friend Liz said, “Yeah it’s a shithole, but it’s MY shithole.”
